My supervisor Stephen and I presented at the Electronic Visualisation and the Arts London conference held at the British Computer Society. The paper, 'Using Data Visualisation to tell Stories about Collections', was also co-authored with Dr. Florian Kräutli (now at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science).
The paper explores visualisation of 'big data' from digitised museum collections and archives, focusing on the relationship between data, visualisation and narrative. Historical examples and a survey of current practice are included.
The paper can be found here.
We received the best paper award, which was doubly exciting as this is my first conference paper!
